Currently Exploring

A short, current list. This page replaces the old collection of tool recommendations and generic learning links.

Current work and study

Ordered by where most of my attention is going.

Exploring AI tools and technologies

Experimenting with practical uses for language models, MCP integrations, context management, and developer tooling. I’m interested in where these systems are genuinely useful, how to make their actions understandable, and where human judgment should remain in control.

Unreal Engine 5

Learning Unreal Engine 5 through hands-on projects, including its C++ programming model, Blueprints, gameplay architecture, UI, editor tooling, assets, rendering, and broader engine workflows. I’m approaching it with more than a decade of Unity experience while taking the time to learn Unreal on its own terms.

Developer experience

Continuing to explore small improvements to local workflows, feedback loops, diagnostics, and documentation that compound across a team.

Working notes

A few ideas I currently find useful.

Make systems observable

Diagnostics should explain what the software is doing before the team has to guess.

Improve the feedback loop

Builds, tools, and content workflows directly affect what a team is willing to try.

Prefer explicit boundaries

Ownership, permissions, state, and failure modes should be visible in the design.

Measure performance

Profiles, traces, and production evidence are more reliable than intuition.

Some of my favorite technical books

A personal shortlist of books I recommend.

Working on something related?

I enjoy comparing notes about developer tools, engine systems, and practical AI.
